The backing got pieced and the quilt is now on the frame. Controlled scrappy. It just about fits in my dining room. No room to move around so I should finish this soon to get it out of the way.
Leg warmers for the little girls, Mackenzie and Severn, is what I'm knitting up now. One down and three more to go. The yarn is Sirdar Snuggly Baby Crofter DK. I bought two balls (different colours) from Mary Maxim just before they closed their Toronto store. I don't know why they closed. I thought the store was doing well.
Gorgeous quilt!
ReplyDeleteit is a beautiful quilt. Happy knitting!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt; and we soon will all be needing leg warmers, right? i am knitting a shawl which i am really enjoying...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteHi Dolores,
ReplyDeleteThe quilt you are making is beautiful and what a lot of work.
The leg warmers are pretty too and such lovely wool. I have picked up my needles again and have finished a jersey for our son for his birthday.
Enjoy the new week
Carolyn
Love your quilt !
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks great, and that yarn makes a nice design when knitted up.
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely scrap quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove the design of your quilt. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt - I guess squeezing around it is the hazard of working on a frame! Something I'd love to try one day. I've used the Sirdar Crofter for making hats and gloves for my nieces when they were much younger, it's lovely to knit up isn't it - really soft and pretty.
ReplyDeleteWow! I love the different sized squares in your quilt.
ReplyDeleteControlled scrappy sounds like the best kind of quilt I can imagine. This one looks beautiful. The little girls will feel like ballet dancers in their new leg warmers!
ReplyDeleteWow, I love the balance in your quilt. Beautiful! The colors really speak to me too!
ReplyDeleteAnd such cute leggings for the girls. Hope we get to see a picture (o:
Oh no - they closed a store! I hope the one in Port Huron is still open, I love going there. Those legwarmers are too darling, and your new quilt is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know Mary Maxim had closed their TO store - that's unfortunate. So much is done through mail order now - internet ordering seems to be the way of the future. I so much prefer bricks and mortar stores so you can actually see what you're getting, particularly when it comes to yarn.
