Day ten

A very pleasant walk but not if it has rained. This path tends to get very muddy. Nice for little boys who love muddy puddles but not nice for dogs (who get dirty) and adults - because it gets worse up ahead and very slippery. River Medway is on the left. A farmer's field is on the right - behind the bushes.

Day nine

This was the second set of trees that I was asked to test.

I sent the six blocks to the Wollongong Modern Quilt Guild in Australia. They were collecting tree blocks to be put into quilts for those people who lost everything and were displaced during the horrendous fires late last year - before Covid 19 struck.

Day eight

I sometimes am a pattern tester for a couple of quilt designers. Cindy of Quilt Doodle Designs approached me earlier this year to see if I could test her instructions for a couple of different tree blocks. Even though I had a lot of other things to do, I said yes and found that her instructions were very clear and the measurements accurate.

This was one set of trees.

Day seven

Bird watching in the backyard. The whole area has these pigeons about. I call them doves because of the cooing noise they make.

Day six

An odd lost and found.

Day five

Just one of many - before the haircut.

Day four

Pubs are still open but not for socializing.

Day three

This was taken last month - April 1st, as a matter of fact. I guess some people just needed to get out for some exercise even though you were supposed to stay in. We just saw another rower while we were out today too.

Day two

A photo a day.

The entrance to the park is just on the left, where the curve in the road begins. These trees have now lost their blooms but they were oh so pretty.

Day one

I decided to post one photo a day - for how long? I don't know. It could be 3 days or it could be 10. I might have an explanation but then again, I might not. It's my blog and I can do what I want with it.

This is one of three bunkers that my little grandson and I have found on our walk in the park.

Just because

Last week I was trying to finish knitting a sleeve for my granddaughter's sweater. I like to knit while watching TV. One time, I took off my glasses and laid them down beside me. As I looked down, this is what I saw.

My glasses ended up here.

It was just too good an opportunity not to miss. Luckily, I had my camera handy and reached for it without moving and took a few photos.

Tuesday Treat

I LOVE this photo (and little Luc, of course.)

Too bad it's only an ornament.

Little Patric.

Precious.

I hope everyone's decorating is non-stressful.

Tuesday Treat and someone is giving away a hare

My daughter, her boys and the new little chicks.
Those little chicks grow really, really quickly.

Psst, go check out my friend Midge at Soggibottom. She is giving away a Dartmoor Hare. No, no, not a real one. It's one that she made...

Tuesday Treat

These are two vintage (old) quilts that were at the Textile Museum of Canada, located in downtown Toronto. I liked old quilts before but as I age, I am becoming more and more of a fan of old quilts. I stood in front of the red and green star on white (the left quilt) for quite a while. I stood and stared because it had an optical illusion effect to it. If one was to visually concentrate on just one star, some of the other ones appeared not to have any red. It wasn't until you moved your eyes and looked at the stars that you realized that they all had red and green and white. It was really an interesting quilt up close.

Tuesday Treat

A double treat today.

Big brother in training - even sharing his goldfish. This scenario occurred a week before little brother was born.

So far, so good. This little guy sleeps 5 hours between feedings and when he's awake, he is content to just look around and take in his surroundings.

Tuesday Treat

My mom always made Sunday dinner. My children grew up with it. Some of my mom's dishes are well known in the family and there are some favourites. Since she hasn't made Sunday dinners for years (she is in a long term care facility also known as a nursing home) some of us in the family have tried to re-produce some dishes. One Christmas, unbeknownst to most of the family, my son made the zucchini with tomato sauce. Since he didn't let anyone know what he was doing, I had decided to do the same dish. It was a sort of 'who did it best' situation. Lemon snow, a dessert that my mom used to make, came into conversation not too long ago. Family dinner now occurs once a month and my youngest, Ayla, thought she would make it but wanted to try it out first, before offering it to the rest of the family.

So, this past Sunday, she came over for chicken dinner and brought over dessert - lemon snow. I'll just say that there were no leftovers.

Tuesday Treat

Just a little photoshop work today. My middle daughter makes calendars for the family every year filled with wonderful photos. The photos are of the previous year and usually feature the different activities that the family members got up to.

This photo was taken in 2011 when little baby Luc was visiting with his mom. The whole family went bowling one day. Luc becomes such a prop for his aunts and uncles.

This is the photo that showed up in last year's calendar. A little World Peace in sepia tones. I know it's not the exact photo but I guess this one worked better (I don't have this one in my files) and you get the idea anyway.

It's amazing what the world of computers has done. Take my updated profile picture - taken this past Sunday. My daughter cropped the photo since her sister was in the other half of it and I needed a new profile pic.

Tuesday Treat

I don't always carry my camera with me but this past weekend, I did. A little drive in the country, snow, bare trees, yes, there is still stuff to interest me. (click on the photos to make them bigger)

Interesting stone and brick on one home. I particularly like the stonework on top of the windows.

I love this. Do you see it? Perhaps...

if I go closer, or...

closer still. How's this? Pretty nice, eh? I love the camouflage effect of the trim on the house and the fact that the windows fit right in between. Perfect.

Here's another angle. I'd love to see the inside this circular house.

Have a great, creative week.

Tuesday Treat

Something a little different. Just photos of random things on Tuesdays. In this case, it's my little grandson, Luc.

Playing with Orange Cat. This cat loves Luc. Whenever we went for a walk last year, Orange Cat would follow behind.

Spring is around the corner. Mild temperatures means melting snow and muddy roads.
I love the expression on Luc's face.

A boy and a puddle. Need I say more?
