I'm back

I have been away for the past month - way across the country.

This is little Patric who came to the airport to see me off. Healthy and happy, he is just a wonderful little baby.

Burp time.

With mama, my daughter Laila.

I was fortunate to be able to stay a bit extra to help Patric's big brother Luc celebrate his 2nd birthday.

Luc had his very first ice cream cone. It was hard to get the ice cream out when one's tongue isn't very long.

We went on walks.

We saw mule deer.

I made a total of 10 little hats to donate to the hospital.

We saw lots of cows.

I played soccer with Luc.

Luc got to play along the river.

We saw some horses when we took a trip to a place called Horsefly where...

there was still a teeny bit of snow. Luc didn't quite grasp the idea of snowballs.

We even saw a bear. Once we got into the car and drove up the road, he was gone. This was the only photo op we had of him. (click on the photo twice to enlarge it)

Luc got so comfortable going down the slide that he got to do it 'hands free.'

Did I mention the deer?

All too soon I had to leave this part of Canada and travel back home. My husband said I should skype with Luc to see if he can figure out that his mummi is on the computer screen and not there in true life.

Since I have not yet finished Patric's quilt, it will be the first thing I work on. Once it's done and delivered, I will post a photo. There are lots of things I plan on working on in the near future so stay tuned...

Update

What caring and beautiful friends you are! Thank you for that.

Ayla emailed to say that they did indeed land safely - she had no phone or laptop internet connection since her UK convertors did not work there. There was only one public use computer at the hotel that they were staying. The keyboard took some getting used to (as her brother had warned) and their free breakfast consisted of such a variety of food that they were able to make lunch for themselves too.
The flight to England is to be at 4:30 in the early morning hours of Sunday and jet lag had hit even though the time change was only 4 hours (her words). They were spending the last day checking out more of Reykjavik's sights such as the national gallery and perhaps meeting up with a couple from New York who were staying at the same hotel.
Once in England, they are going to be met by her friend and she will email and/or phone again.
