Newest member...

of the family was born early this morning. My daughter had a baby boy - 6 lbs. 8 oz.
Mom and baby are doing well. Quick delivery. Sorry, SUPER QUICK delivery is what I meant to say.
Pain at 10:30 p.m.
11:15 p.m. leave for hospital.
11:45 p.m. arrive at hospital.
12: 02 a.m. baby is born.

I am officially now a grandmother!!!!! Names are yet to be chosen. My daughter had said that they were waiting to meet the little one before they decided on a name.

Note: This is the culmination of a first pregnancy where my daughter enjoyed being pregnant, had no morning sickness and everything at home is ready for the little one. BTW, she was 6 lbs. 6 oz. when she was born. Dad is doing well too - he got to cut the umbilical cord.

Today - a special day

 I received this card in the mail this morning.

 It wasn't signed. But the postal code on the cancellation indicated it came from British Columbia.

The Best News Ever!

And it came on my birthday.

It was sent on the 13th.

From across the country, that is unreal considering Canada Post.

Someone was watching over this piece of mail,

to have it delivered on the 18th.

Now I have to make a quilt - in bright colours and keeping in mind that it may end up being a sucky blanket.

Note: This is the first grandchild for us and the new aunts and uncles are very happy too.
