It has had a few turns since I showed you. This is how the quilt was when we showed up last Wednesday night.
Take note of the big blue floral star on the right in the second row.

Here's another shot of the quilt.
By evening's end, we took another turn on the quilt. See? There's only half of the blue star showing. This is Marg's side and she only had a little bit left before the quilt needed another turn. It won't be long before it's all finished. Marg will be pleased because this quilt is going to her church to be raffled off. We are already thinking of our next project. Perhaps it'll be a Dresden plate or a fan quilt.
I belonged to my church guild for years, and we worked like this making one quilt per year to be raffled at our summer festival $1.00 per chance. A good year often brought $2,000.00. This quilt is lovely, and I predict a good return as well!
ReplyDeleteNice :) After I finish my thesis and finish quilting my double wedding ring, I really want to find some quilt friends that can meet during the day time.
ReplyDeleteIt just looks so pleasant "watching" folks like you guys do this!
Great work Dolores , those turns feel so good don't they and you don't have too many left .
ReplyDeleteI love the design and the clear colors. How did you get the name Champagne Quilters?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure this will be a great fundraiser for the church - it's a beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt is looking wonderful ladies!
ReplyDeleteLookin' good! You don't have far to go now...
ReplyDeleteIt's neat to watch this quilt being completed. Love the stars.
ReplyDeleteI love that this quilt will be raffled, such a good idea. and yes....I am a constant hand washer!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful quilt Dolores. I love the idea of an old-fashioned "quilting bee".
ReplyDeleteI really like the setting of this quilt. A wonderful way to use up some scraps. If you don't mind, what are the size of the smaller stars and the width of the sashing?
