The Big Day

I do hope all you mothers had a wonderful Mother's Day. I certainly did. It was my youngest daughter's wedding day. What a great family gathering it was. The ceremony went off without a hitch with all five of the little people (ring bearers and flower girls) preceding the bride down the aisle.
The following photos were taken by my middle daughter Maili, using her phone. Once I have better photos, I shall post them.

This weekend is the BIG DAY. Wedding bells!!

This is just some of the stuff I've been sewing. These are matching shirts for my grandsons with their little bow ties. The cuffs have turquoise (actually peacock blue) self covered buttons to look like cuff links.

Pocket squares for the men and a straight tie for the groom.

Bow ties for the men but NOT the one in the foreground. I just had to make one that was exactly as the pattern indicated and it has flat batting in it. I think it's horrible so I made my own pattern up - modelled after the little boys' bow ties.

This is the single bow tie. I made two of those and three of the double bow ties for the men.

I also made dresses for the two little girls and I knitted wraps for them too. These were fun to make and they have a white satin ribbon holding them closed.

Well, that's just a few of the things I made. I have not finished yet and so I will get back at it.

April weather

It appears as if winter is back - for this week at least.

It snowed today.

It's not much snow but it did stick a bit.

I'm busy sewing various items for my youngest daughter's wedding. There's not much time to quilt but I did manage to sew a little bib. I had two little girls for lunch and I only had one bib. It was on my 'to do' list for a while and so I found some fabric and almost finished one. It still needs a snap but since I needed it in a hurry, I used a safety pin.

Magical Easter

This afternoon we were waiting for two little girls to come over with their parents. The Easter Bunny had 'hidden' goodies in our backyard for them to find. While looking out to make sure that the squirrels didn't eat the little girls' goodies, a brownish hare was spotted in the very back of the yard. He/she was camouflaged very nicely. The bunny stayed the whole afternoon and I cut up a carrot for it. We live in the city where the main wildlife we see are squirrels, birds and raccoons. To see a bunny is rare but to have one show up in our backyard on Easter Sunday is truly magical.

I'm surprised that this little guy was spotted since he really is very well camouflaged.
