Quilt show - Part 2

I just saw a pattern similar to this and thought how complicated it looks but how easy it really is to make.

Scrap quilts are so great to make. There are so many patterns you can use.

Another great old pattern, the bear's paw. Wonderfully scrappy.

A fresh, clean looking quilt done mainly with just one block.

A Janet Stone pattern.

It was fused and machine blanket stitched.

I don't know why but I do like sheep in quilts.

Leaves. Another thing I love in quilts.

Quilt show - Part 1

The Twisted Stitchers Quilt Guild held their quilt show this past weekend. It's the last quilt show of the year and so I just had to go and take some photos.
I have to tell you upfront - there are no hand quilted quilts - not a one. At their last show they had one. It's a shame that no one wants to take the time to hand quilt their own quilts. Anyway, on with the show. There was lots to see - a wonderful variety. Great vendors too but I bought nothing. I just looked.

I didn't want to view the quilts where there were lots of people and so I went the opposite way and this was the first quilt that greeted me.

As soon as I saw this and realized that all the hockey players were women, I had to take a photo.

Lucky niece.

This was way too cute to pass on.

There were several quilts in this same colour scheme but each one was quite different.

I think the fabric makes this quilt - great batiks.

Progress

There have been a few more turns taken on the quilt.

Slowly but surely, it's getting done.

Tuesday treat

It's so nice to know that what you make gets used and is appreciated.

Here's Super Patric (my little grandson) wearing the cape I made for him - off to save the world.

Sorry the photo is so small but that's how I get them when they are taken on a phone. I tried to make it bigger but it just got pixelated.

The little 8" leg warmers fit! Now, I just have to make another pair. Sorry for the blur but it's hard to get little ones to stay still for even half a minute.

Three turns were taken on this quilt. I'm hoping for two more by the end of today.

 

This is one of the patterns that my friend Judy has given to me over the years. She also gifted me with some great fabric for the border. Once I find that fabric, I'm thinking of making this so it can hang in the hall - probably for next year.

 

The weather is absolutely great for the rest of the week so I'm heading out for a walk now before it gets too hot.

Busy time

It has been a busy month for sewing, quilting, knitting and finally, baking.

The quilt is almost ready for turning. Just that one big navy triangle to finish up.

 Some leg warmers got finished along with two hats for my daughter's friend's little one.

 

 And finally, two loaves of pulla just came out of the oven. I got distracted so these don't have any raisins in them. Oh well, they do have cardamom. Thank you Ulla.
