We aren't known for our earth movements here in good old Toronto but this morning at 9:45 a.m., there was a 4.8 magnitude earthquake.
It's not the first time I have felt an earthquake. Around here, they are mild, and not everyone feels it. I was just sitting here on my couch, beside one of my cats and as she woke up to clean herself, I felt the house vibrate. I thought about it and realized it was an earthquake because there isn't any construction outside. It was the same feeling as before. I think this makes 3 so far, for me.

Sorry, no photos.

  1. Yes it was a bit of a surprise:) I was standing in the kitchen and my hanging plant start moving back and forward on it's own.

  2. Hi--they say that we felt it way down here in the Finger lakes area of NY--but they are doing some construction in the apt next to me today--so have no idea if I felt it or not????
glad though to know it was minor and that you are fine--
love this batch of doll blankets and pillows too--keep stitching--
    hugs, di and miss gracie

  3. A bit of a spooky feeling isn't it!
Glad it was a mild quake.
Just imagine what it must be like in an earthquake prone place like New Zealand or in the Pacific.

  4. It put's flooding at a low risk place to live in the scale of things.... er we have babies to think about here .. ARE THEY ALL OKAY ?

Any one who washes up here is a babes ! xxx

  5. I felt it too, but I thought it was the garbage truck going down my street.

  6. Glad it didn't do too much in damage. I've been in areas that have had earthquakes but I've never felt one, just learn about them afterwards. I guess I'm not earth-quake-sensitive?!
