Little things

I have not been idle.

The flag is bound. There is a hanging sleeve on it but it still needs a label. My son and his wife were overjoyed (on behalf of their little girls.)

In my efforts to use up yarn, I made one...

four little hats so far and

I also cut and sewed up some flannel for receiving blankets. The hats and the blankets are for my favourite charity.

This is the only African violet that I have that's in bloom.

It was a gift from my grandson Luc who told his mother, when they were out shopping, that they needed to buy Mummi some flowers. This was in January when we had our second Christmas.

I wanted to show Luc that the flowers are still blooming.

  1. Your Canadian flag quilt is wonderful! All the baby goodies are sweet as can have been busy. It's wonderful to see so much good stuff hand-made.
    Great work.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Cheers, from Oshawa, Ontario

  2. The flag is wonderful ! Cute little hats and blankets and your violets look amazing . I have some violets but can't seem to get them to rebloom .

  3. Love your African Violet story and flowers. Don't they make you smile? The hats and flag look super, too.

  4. Busy, busy! Those violets are so perfect they almost don't look real. You do have a green thumb. :)

  5. Hello Dolores,

I didn't expect you to be idle, love that flag. Oh and the cutest little hats on earth. Your African Violets are lovely, don't they bloom for a long time. You can take cuttings from the leaves, they grow quite easily. Luc chose a great plant.

    Happy days.

  6. Love the flag quilt!!! What adorable hats, I can just picture them gracing a sweet little baby face. My African Violet has decided to hibernate for the winter - no blooms. I'm anticipating many this summer though, it loves hanging in the window!

  7. Oh I wish I could grow African violets. They see me coming and die. No idea why.

  8. The hats and blankets are adorable. Good for you for taking such good care of the African violet (I have a brown thumb). The flag looks great.

  9. Love the flag quilt. One day I have to make one. And those hats well they are too darn cute.
