It's going to be a long cowl. I call it the beginning because this is only the first ball of yarn. It's 10% alpaca and really soft. Great for wearing around one's neck.
This, of course, is in the middle of being quilted. I had to leave it in November because I went out west to visit my daughter and her family. I'm glad to get it back up and am hoping to finish the quilting on it soon.
And this is the end. Having given it to the recipient Casey, my daughter's boyfriend, I call this project totally complete. I am hoping to make a couple more hats since have I purchased the wool already but right now, I am engrossed in the projects above.

I hope everyone in North America is keeping warm on this very cold day.
Lovely! Stay cosy! Xx
ReplyDeleteI can see that everyone needs a warm hat, scarf/cowl/wrap. mittens, super thick coat, fur lined boots and more, stay safe and warm up there, love the hat, and hope to see the cowl so soon. Cheers from Jean
ReplyDeleteThe warm hat has to be very handy now. I'm impressed you have something finished/ended. I have several things in various stages, but nothing currently finished.
ReplyDeleteThe cowl looks lovely. I made a long, winding, loop scarf last year with some grey wool that shades from dark to light through about three or four stages. I hardly ever take it off my neck! It goes with everything and is so warm and comfy. I did it in garter stitch because I'm too lazy to do purl rows!
ReplyDeleteHope the weather's not being too cruel to you over there.
I hope you are keeping warm? your weather looks horrendous!!

Knitting is a good thing on a cold winter day - either doing it, or wearing it.
ReplyDeleteGreat title for the post! Love your knitting. Can't wait to see the quilt finished up.
ReplyDeleteThat wool you're using for the cowl looks lovely and snugly. I hope you're keeping warm and indoors...it's too cold outside today :(
ReplyDeleteIt is good to keep warm with woolly hats and cowls! Knitting alpaca yarn feels good in your own hands too.
ReplyDeleteNice things. The cowl looks soft, and the hat (and model) look very handsome.

ReplyDeleteI like the quilt design too.
Wonderful quilt you have there. Is that hand quilting that I see you doing on it? If so, Great! We are a dying breed.
