Quesnel Quilt Show - Part 2

I thought I would start today with a couple of quilts in my favourite colours.

A beautifully done Double Wedding Ring. This is stunning but I have never had the desire to make one.

This would look great hanging in the entrance to one's home.

This was a very small quilt and a bit high up but I'm glad I got a good shot of it.

What child wouldn't love this quilt?

Pale butterflies. I like the fact that the quilter used muted tones for this.

Just goes to show you how easy quilts can be. This should not intimidate a beginner. The fun is in selecting the fabrics.

Here's a close-up of the machine quilting.

It's nice to see the delicate embroidery mixed with piecing.

I've not seen this pattern before. It's quite nice because you can feature a printed fabric as this quilter has done with the cardinals.

The pattern is by Peggy Martin and it's called Rainbow Galaxy, but the quilter re-named it, Northern Lights.

At first glance, this just looks like an eye spy quilt. Then, one notices that all the light background fabrics are in the centre and it gradually gets darker towards the border. A fun quilt to look at for any age.

This must have been a workshop done at the guild.

They were done in all colours.

The pattern is called Tiddly Winks.

Simplicity. I really like this little quilt.

This quilt looks like it would be so much fun to make. It's a Buggy Barn design.

A fairly simple patten using lots of different fabrics. Great for a beginner.

Another easy pattern with lots and lots of scraps. I like this one a lot.

Blue diamonds. Simple and yet, very effective.

A French Braid quilt. I do like the graduation of the colours of this pattern. There are so many colour combinations that a quilter can use.

Another fun quilt.

My daughter liked it but little Luc was not amused.

He preferred to be set loose to make tracks.

And I will leave you today with a shot of just part of the vendor's mall...

and this is a pattern that I ordered because the vendor had sold out. I do hope she remembers.

More tomorrow.

  1. Hi Dolores, hope you had a chance to browse in the main vendors area. That bag looks pretty swish!
