Today is Victoria Day. It's a holiday in Canada.
Sometimes called firecracker day.
The 24th of May is the Queen's birthday
and if you don't give us a holiday,
we"ll run away and play.
I grew up with that little poem that my dad used to say. It's been a holiday for years and years. The Monday closest to May 24th has always been deemed a statutory holiday and at sundown, there is a fireworks display at various places. Now, sadly there are two major ones but when my children were small, all we had to do is walk up the street to the park to watch them. This has been one of the nicest and warmest Victoria Days that I can remember. Usually, it's been cool to cold and we've had rain too some years. Our high today supposed to be 76F or 24C.
Have a great week ahead.
