come to life with the stitching.
I love the way the shadows play on the fabric - even if it's a print, the quilting does show up. I just hope it's noticeable once it's off the frame. Hand quilting a design on a quilt always seems to delight me.
It really looks marvellous!! I am very excited to see the ready quilt!
ReplyDeleteHand stitch is sort-of relaxing(on small projects), but on a quilt(stops for shudder)!!I still have hang-ups from school, when I had to unpick and redo every line of stitching that I did in class!!

I enjoy just winging it or cutting out my own stencils made from my doodles and then hand quilting. It turns the flat, lifeless fabric (though very beautiful in itself) into a expressive, touchable, strokeable living piece. May sound corny but I love the way quilting can bring your quilt to life, be it done by hand or machine. I still have trouble with the machine I guess it is because I enjoy hand quilting so much and haven't really want to use the machine.
