I have so many projects that I could work on and I don't need to start something else - but I did. Appliquing a heart a week. The blocks I am using are 6.5 unfinished. I gave the link to the site in my previous post in case anyone else wants to sew along.

Hearts to applique
These are the first two weeks of this sew along.
I noticed that the pdf that is provided isn't always true to size so a little bit of fiddling around with scale is needed. It's not a big thing and I saw that not everyone used the heart that was provided. It's all personal choice but it is a small thing to make each week. A new heart is posted every Friday. These were just some fabrics that were in my sewing room that I picked up randomly. I am hoping to sew one each week and keep up with all the others.

Working on a couple of UFOs
Instead of starting another new quilt, I decided I would sort of finish off some UFOs.
This is the other UFO I have been working on. I added a row or two more just to make it a bit bigger. I had thought that I would just go with how many blocks I had but it seemed a bit on the small size. The blocks are 7 inches finished and they are 3D bowties. I just need to lay them out again and sew them all together. If you have never made a 3D bowtie, all you need is 5 squares of equal size. Two squares for the background and 3 for the bowtie. I cut these at 4 inches and all the blocks are made from floral fabric with no repeats.
There is a sew along on Facebook where every Friday we can obtain a heart pattern a week. The blocks are 6.5 inches unfinished. So far, it's only been week 2. Here's the link in case anyone wants to join in. It may take some fiddling with printer settings to get the blocks to the correct size but then again, close is good enough.

Valentine's Day
I remember when my own children were going to school, I made felt hearts for them. I think I made some for their teachers too.
I just finished sewing 10 Valentine hearts for my grandchildren.
I added pins so that they can be worn on Tuesday.
I think the ones I made for teachers were a tad bigger. This year, I didn't make any for anyone else - no time.
My little grandsons just gave me pink marshmallow hearts - my favourite candy. Their mom bought me a bag of red, candy coated marshmallow hearts. There aren't any left at the store so I couldn't buy anymore. I remember my mom used to buy cinnamon hearts in a small, heart-shaped box. To this day, I still don't like the spicy hot cinnamon heart candies.

Flannel pajamas
I did make my little twin grandsons pajamas for Christmas but I didn't totally finish them. I had to make buttonholes and sew the buttons on.
In order to use up my flannel pieces, I combined a solid red with a red print.
The red print had little dinosaurs on it. Perfect for two year old Otis.
This was made for his brother Archer, whose favourite colour is orange.
Sorry for the bad colour. The previous photo was closer to the original. I ended up making all the buttonholes by hand.
These were fun to make.
